Zines

Zines and self publishing are something that I am deeply passionate about. It partly comes from my preference for creating tangible things, but more specifically I feel there is immense value in creator controlled publications. Zines are not only a very accessible medium, almost everyone has access to a pen, a piece of paper and a photocopier, but the possibilities are limitless.

When I think about wanting to share a photographic project, I have to be pretty convinced of the appeal to go to the extent of hosting an exhibition. Exhibitions are a costly exercise, in both funds, time and effort. But how else can someone share photographic work in physical form? A zine can be costly depending on production methods, but it also doesn't have to be.
